New Year’s Eve: The Florentine Squares Come to Life with Music

New Year’s Eve will be celebrated in a magical way on every street corner in Florence; there will be a lot of concerts in all the squares in the city centre.

Mario Biondi is the special guest this New Year’s Eve: his soul voice will be the protagonist at the Parco delle Cascine. This great Sicilian baritone singer will play live music ranging from jazz to blues.

This year the popular New Year’s Eve concert has been moved from Piazza Santa Maria Novella to the Parco delle Cascine because of work in progress around the piazza.

This year Florence invited excellent Italian artists to perform at the big concert as it has in recent years with singers such as Caparezza, Elio e le Storie Tese and Max Pezzali. You cannot miss this amazing concert! The tramway and a shuttle service will be available to welcome many people for this special occasion. But that’s not all! Great concerts will be held in various squares in the city centre: you can take part in a touching classical music concert in Piazza della Signoria, or if you prefer jazz, you can go and listen to some in the San Frediano district. If your passion is the gospel, you cannot miss the gospel chorus from New York who will perform in Piazza Santissima Annunziata. In Piazza Annigoni children and their families can enjoy carousels, ice skating rinks and street performers for a fun New Year’s Eve!

No matter what kind of New Year’s Eve you wish to have, Florence will live up to your dreams! And once the celebration comes to an end, your room at the B&B Martini will be the best shelter you could possibly imagine!
